I have contacted JC Electric. They wont come out beforehand to look at work we need done and give us a quote. Is this typical in your experience? If you have any other recommendations, we would love for anyone else. We seem to be having such difficulty in getting someone to do the work. Not sure why these guys are so unreliable!

Well in October Liz and I posted this plea. It took us forever but we found a great electrician. Reasonable prices, responsive, small business owner and an overall nice guy. His Name: Ralph Fassee@Fassee Electric. I don't think he would mind me sharing his number: (973) 479-9854

Hey all, we have had good experiences with both Ranch Electric out of Saddle River, and Northern electric located in Demarest. We had used Ranch for relatively small jobs we needed done quickly, they have always been very responsive and reasonable, and recently used Northern for a generator transfer switch installation. Northern's cost was slightly high i thought, but the job was outstanding and the workers extremely thorough.
