First let me say good on you for taking on a rescue, they need our help. As you know or are finding out many have been abused as youngsters and they carry over some bad responses like anxiety and tearing things up when they’re alone. You need to be really careful with how you manage your frustration and respond in those instances, love and positive reinforcement works, lots of stuffed animals for her to chew on helps. Some years ago we took on a dog from the Menands Shelter and upstairs they had a trainer who offered classes and actually came to our house afterwards. Years later we went to their place in West Sand Lake for agility training. It might help to know what her issues are and whether you prefer positive or balanced training styles. I brought my rescue to Good Choice in Albany and it was...ok for basic manners etc, nothing I couldn't have figured out from youtube but the group environment was good for distraction. If you have specific issues you want to work on it is probably better to use a private trainer than a group class. Also if she ever wants to run around with a large male lab, I am always down for doggy play dates!
