If the cables are stretched or all twisted up then they will need replacing, shouldn't be more than about £10 for parts though. The spring is fairly easy to tension if you can access the adjuster with a metal bar. http://www.wikihow.com/Adjust-a-Garage-Door-Spring

Because I can if I can get one that syncs to my iPhone I'll be unbelievably happy. Mansfield garage doors want £75 + parts just to come out and do a repair
