Question for bartenders or bar/restaurant managers: my 24 year old son is TIPS certified and is now looking for a bartending job, but no one wants to hire someone...
Sara E. replied:
Have him check in with Justin Mattera - the owner- at Long Boards a Salem- like Ryan DeRoo mentioned, if hired, they would probably start him as a bar back- which makes total sense. your son will also earn "restaurant cred" by working his way up, and earning the respect of the other bartenders. he could work for an events company as well- and would be able to bartend at events, but its typically not true bartending, and he would still benefit from barbacking at a busy bar.

This was on www.indeed.com. There are many bar back jobs in the north shore. If he is interested in applying for the one below- please pm me his info. My husband could get his info to the hiring managers. He would still apply through the link on indeed as well.
