Obviously gotta recommend Marblehead Animal Hospital. I think we’re pretty affordable and always offer different tiers of options

VCA Wakefield - first visit is free. You'd have to pay for meds or treatment if further work up is needed though.

Dr Jeff Rockwell tell them your concerns and limitations they helped us threw the passing of both our 18 year old cat and 16 year old golden retriever

We love Dr. Douglas DiPierro and staff at Northeast Veterinary Hospital in Peabody. They have been our vet for over 15 years. Extremely emphatic and worth the short drive to Peabody.

Anyone have a personal recommendation for a board certified veterinary surgeon within a 45ish minute radius of Salem? I love my local vet practice for day-to-day stuff,...
Kate S. replied:
Atlantic Veterinary Hospital in Marblehead. They are beyond fantastic. I won't take our pets anywhere else. They have been particularly good with my elderly dog who has had to have cancer surgery and follow up care. FYI, thanks in part to their care, she has lived 2 years longer than any expectations, and is still going strong.
Liz W. replied:
Amy - I take all my dogs locally (even for surgeries) but this might be what you need. They are great - we have been there for emergencies, and I know other people who rave. They really do it all. http://www.ivghospitals.com/hospital/massachusetts-veterinary-referral-hospital/
Reni W. replied:
Hi Amy, what kind of surgery? Jeff Rockwell has a surgeon come in from Waltham. He performed my Golden Retrievers surgery but I took her to Waltham.

Having owned at Vet Clinic have to warn everyone.....some places practice expensive medicine...not smart medicine........ " if it sounds like hoofbeats.........don't look for Zebras. " Our son has a dog with problems and in Miami a vet told him he needed a $3000 cat scan that a simple X-ray would have pinpointed the problem...... So think Simply and get other opinions especially a a Veterianarian who has been in business for over 20 yrs!!!!

Atlantic Vet is the only place I will use for our pets. We've never had chickens but they've been great with dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils.
Âßßy M. replied:
Thank you Peyton Power Dixey, I called All Creatures yesterday, and they have agreed to put Haley down, when the time comes. I did take another chicken (Elsa) to Atlantic Vet, and they were very and were able to help her. Unfortunately they do not normally deal with chickens and had to consult other vets and watch videos to see how to preform the surgery that Elsa needed. From now on I would like to be able to take my girls to a vet that sees chickens often.

Sarah L. replied:
Def Dr Rockwell at Atlantic! We have a 7yr old lab and we've been there since she was a puppy. 3 years ago she had cancer and needed her front leg amputated .. The care and support we recieved was amazing. Dr Rockwell even came to my house to check on Lucy when I was in a panic over something during recovery; my infant was sick so I couldn't make it to the office myself. The type of cancer she had was incredibly rare and we did visit a few other offices for 2nd and 3rd options (none of them had ever come across this type of bone cancer before
Micaela L. replied:
I brought one cat in to Atlantic for an annual exam, then brought my other (same age and breed) to Marblehead Animal hospital for a price comparison. The latter was significantly cheaper.
Carol G. replied:
Have used Marblehead Animal Hospital since they first started around 1984. They don't push me to do anything I don't feel needed for my many animals yet always advise me of their recommendations. All vets are expensive
Kate S. replied:
Love Atlantic Veterinary. They've taken excellent care of our pets for years and cost wise are on par with others in the area

Brenda K. replied:
I cant say enough about Atlantic Vet, if you mention to them the price is a problem, they can usually work with you. We did use Northshore Animal Hospital in Lynn to have Penny spayed because they took part in the lower cost spay program thru MSPCA, it wound up being $120 to spay her vs $700 something here in town. It was just a question of not having an extra $500, but they were VERY understanding about it, and said Northshore was a good place too
Christine T. replied:
