Get multiple opinions if needed, I had one TMJ specialist recommend an oral splint that I would have had to wear for several months, almost 24 hours a day! Dr. Robert Norkus, Ambridge. Even though his office is in a crappy area, he has been there forever and his skills are unparalleled. My father suffered from a bad jaw for years, I had trouble too. Hi Amy, welcome. We use Mars Dental Specialists and Bass Wolfson Pediatrics ( they have a good walk in service every morning for things like ear infections, strep, etc). We have been happy with Precious People preschool, as well as Bakerstown Presbyterian Children's Center. Lots of great parks: Pine Community Park and Blueberry Hill Park in Wexford are some of our favorites. Our family has lived in Adams Ridge since 1999. I absolutely love our Pediatricians and trust them implicitly. Our daughters are now 17 and almost 13, but have been treated by Dr, Morganti and Dr. Scott since they were very little. They are excellent diagnosticians, always get the girls in (same day) when they are sick, and although they are very thorough, they don't sweat the small stuff. The staff is absolutely first class and we have developed lovely relationships with several nurses over the years. I trust both doctors, but because Dr. Morganti is female and supremely kind, my daughters definitely prefer her. To say that she is friendly and gentle is a huge understatement, and I would say the same of Dr. Scott. She also makes a point of truly knowing my girls and always spends plenty of time with us. Recommend highly and believe me when I say that it takes a lot for me to trust anyone with my children! Added note: although my oldest is 17 and very mature, she has no intention of leaving Dr. Morganti until she HAS to. I think that speaks volumes. Orthodontists: we have used Grady and Kastner for both girls (Wexford) and they did impeccable work and I also recommend them without question. Gentle, kind, great staff and office, and our girls teeth are now gorgeous. Sorry I went on so long!!

Welcome! My boys go to Mars Dental Specialists for dentist and we just started with their orthodontist there, Dr. Pechersky. So far so good with orthodontics too. Very happy with that practice. For boys and mens haircuts, we like Adam or Pedro at Young's Barber Shop in Seven Fields (next to Siba Restaurant) on Route 228. Not sure how old your children are, but we absolutely loved My School Preschool in Mars! We attend Orchard Hill Church in Wexford (just off I-75) and chose them because other families in the Mars area invited us, they have an awesome VBS camp in summer, and great kids programs during the church service all year. Our kids didn't want to go back to our old church after attending some of the programs there. Hope that this information helps!

She treats us every 6 months, has handled emergencies beautifully - Lindsay had an abscess when she was 9! - and she bonded Morgan's teeth. They look incredible. I go to Dunlap dental in treesdale & my girls go to dentistry for kids (they are ok but we are considering switching as l8 ly the staff hasn't been so gr8). Lots of gr8 parks...north parks' zip line...fun fore all .... North boundary h20 park. ...The zoo...Our museums ...The aviary. ... The science center....depending on how old your kids are Kennywood, Idlewild & sandcastle are fun (a bit of a drive so plan for it to be a whole day outing). Mars library has lots of activities all year too

Theres mars youth football and cheer ages 2 nd grade (6 yrs old- 7 th grade -13 yrs old). Sign ups are this month. Mars Area Soccer Club starts their in-house league on saturday. We also have girls lacrosse, boys lacrosse, girls fast pitch and slow pitch softball as well as Mars Baseball. There's also I-9 sports and the Nzone sports for flag football and cheer, Mars Youth basketball as well as upwards Basketball and cheer. Oh, and lets not forget Mars Youth Wrestling. We have Room 101 for art classes as well as guitar works and noteworthy music for music lessons. Oh and the Butler Valley Dawgs for ice Hockey at the ice connection. Have also been to Tara at Personal Touch Salon on 19 between Cranberry and Wexford; she gives great haircuts and braids beautifully. Looking for a new family dentist myself, so I can't help there. My pediatrician is much farther away than many of these great recommendations, so not necessary.

The staff is excellent. They are really friendly and they allow time to take care of you without rush. They have changed my attitude about going to the dentist and have done a great job. I've lived here all my life (with the exception of 10 months in NC). Adams Township park is very nice. They have a terrific community day celebration in September that starts with a 5K in the morning and ends with the best fireworks display around later in the evening. North Pittsburgh Dance Alliance on Brickyard Road is a great studio if you have kids who dance. Jimmy's is a small restaurant on the left as you're headed into Mars from the 7/11 at the intersection of 228 & Mars- Valencia rd. They have great fish sandwiches and more. Mystic Lanes on Rt. 8 is only open evenings, but is a nice local bowling alley. It was bought by another Mars graduate not that long ago and he's been doing a great job updating and redecorating it. The owner and staff are friendly & the pizza is good. It's also a great place for a kid's bday party. We've had 2 there. They made it easy for me & the kids had fun. They have a FB page. Posti's has excellent dinners and you get a lot for what you pay. (The eggplant parm is my favorite.) But, we like Supremo's pizza in Brickyard Plaza for pizza. Connected to it is Mango Bean, a great coffee & frozen yogurt shop. They have great yogurt flavors and tons of yummy toppings. (They also have a FB page.) Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Brian and Rob Klaich and they both apologized for their colleagues ineptitude. He's been a patient of the Klaichs ever since and has been extremely satisfied.

I have been going to Pitt Dental School for root canals, gum scraping, etc. It is not as bad as it sounds. Very good service and about 1/3 of typical costs.

Oral surgery is expensive no matter where you go, in my experience. I have had two implants done with Dr. Kent Galey at North Pgh Oral Surgery and I have found the process easy and the office to be efficient and pleasant. Dr. Galey, does wonderful work and is quite accomplished. Good luck!
