Woodpeckers will peck for three reasons normally. 1. They are mating. 2. They are looking for bugs. 3. Because they are jerks and want to. I used to work at Budget Pest Control in the north hills and they can get over to you quickly. Just keep in mind, treating for insects might not do the trick.

We had bats in our house. One flying around our bedroom. Make sure they check any fireplaces you have in the house-- even basements ones. The first guy we hired told us there was no way they were coming in through the basement fireplace. We called another guy because we were still seeing them and he looked in the basement fireplace and that's where they were hanging out. I suggest calling Bat and Animal Control 724-756-2404. They took care of them for us. Good luck.
