Also the book Understanding Exposure is available on Amazon for around $15 and will help you learn the basics of shutter speed, aperture, a ISO, which are the three main settings you need to understand to get the results you want. Great book.

If you buy used, KEH.com is awesome. They're stingy with their ratings, so the quality is usually better than they've rated.
