I can't recommend a good accountant, but I've got the phone numbers of a couple of bad ones. One of them even has some of my ("lost") files. Ask around. Obviously, you're already doing that, but also ask any friends with small businesses. They'd be more likely to know accountants who would take you on and aren't completely hopeless. Make sure they're a [CPA](http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/cpa-site/hs.xsl/about-find.html) too if it's for a business.
