Samantha S. replied:
FLUTD flares can be an emergency situation, please do not hesitate to return to the ER if your cat is showing symptoms of inability to urinate, discomfort, a large/hard bladder, etc. did you follow up with your regular vet after the initial ER treatment? FLUTD usually requires diet and lifestyle changes in able to keep flare-ups at bay, your regular vet should be able to discuss this with you. if you don't have a regular vet, i would recommend https://www.facebook.com/203094219715739The Cat Hospital of Media, especially when dealing with the management of a feline specific disease.

Briana, my cat Hank has the exact same problem! It is so stressful to deal with and trying to tell when they are or aren't having a flare-up. Hank was on Hill's prescription c/d for almost a year and then had a couple flare ups after we had been traveling and had guests stay over, so he's now on Purina UR which seems to be working. I stopped giving dry food altogether (even the prescription urinary kind). Anyway, regarding vets, definitely switch to The Cat Hospital in Media! The cat I grew up with lived to be almost 20 and had been a patient at Old Marple from when she was a kitten to around 15 years old. She then got a UTI and had some thyroid issues and Old Marple started talking about unnecessary surgery, misdiagnosed her and started mentioning euthanasia. Needless to say, we got a second opinion at The Cat Hospital and they diagnosed everything immediately, got her meds right and she was like a new cat right away! They bought her several more years and were amazing. Good luck!!

Delaware Valley Vet in Mullica Hill. They tend to be less expensive than the vets in Delco and they will come in for emergencies if needed (while emergency visits are slightly more money, the time I called, the vet told me she would come in but it sounded like I had it under control and to wait until the next day to save me money). They have never forced unnecessary tests or surgeries, are always upfront with the costs and possible outcomes, and have allowed me to treat my animals at home.

I use Delaware Valley Vet in Mullica Hill on 322 about 5 min over the bridge. I've tried other vets in Delco and wasn't happy with the service or prices, and I'm extremely overprotective and picky about who handles and interacts with my dog because he's my service dog! Always reasonable and I believe open 7 days, normally very little waits for appointments and I haven't met a vet there that I don't like. I took both of my animals for their annual for less than half of what my friend paid for 1 dog elsewhere. If you don't want to drive over there, I would recommend the Spayed Club over Providence.
