If you can buy it at Target/walmart it's not good food. I use Blue Buffalo. I also feed my dogs eggs, ground beef and chicken on occasion.

I feed my dog raw.. After feeding my last dog recalled Iams dog chow, I said I would never go back to chow. I've had Pepper for 8 years now and have been feeding her raw since I got her. Her poop is minimal and disintegrates - so there is very little to pick up. Google raw diet and read for yourself. There is also a list of rated dog chow - http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/ . I would suggest one of the top 5, grain free.
