I was at Alvarado Vet Clinic very recently and there was a woman there with her pig, so I would be very surprised if they suddenly don't take pigs. They are there 24\7 for emergencies.

Countryside vet off I35 between Bear Creek & Ovilla Rd

If anyone is missing a kitten in the Lawson Farms subdivision there is a kitten stuck in the storm drain in front of my house on Brookdale. We have been trying to vet...
I'm sure this has been asked more than once so I apologize.
Where is there a good & not over priced vet in Midlo or around us?
Cindy K. replied:
Personally, I have used Jim Rook, 14 th St Vet Clinic, for as long as he's been open and when he was with Midlothian Vet Clinic yrs ago. He is loving, compassionate and very reasonable in price.
Jazz W. replied:
I agree Dr. Rook is amazing.
Sandy P. replied:
No appointments at Dr. Rook's. Annette gave u the times.

Dr. Rook but get there early in the morning, if you go. They open at 8 but be there way before then. We have been going to him for over 24 yrs.
I need to find a cheaper vet!!! I need a cat fixed and declawed but i don't have $300-400 extra right now!! Please pm me any options. Thank you in advance

Dr. Rook972-723-2072Our family has used him for years!
Audra E. replied:
Have 2 cats both declawed...one did fine, in fact i dont even think he noticed that his claws and balls were missing...however, the female limped around for a very long time. We had to help her to the litter box...nearly ten yrs later she still wont let you touch her paws. Dr Rook is inexpensive as is dr welsh...
Michelle H. replied:
I like and trust Dr. Welsh. I have had zero problems with my cats being declawed, front paws only..all my cats have had long happy lives...
Laurie G. replied:
Don't declaw... It's horribly painful and there are other options ... Great vet is Cedar Hill Vet on 67
We are desperately looking for a veterinarian in the metroplex/FTW area. Appreciate any suggestions if you know of any who will work with rescue. Thank you. Roberta

Dr. Jim Rook. 14 th Street Vet Clinic Midlothian. Tell him I sent you.
Carol C. replied:
He's also open on Sat. He doesn't do appts except for surgery. Its first come basis and that keeps his prices SUPER low. I live in Arlington and its worth the drive. Alvarado vet clinic operates the same way but they are higher. Dr. Rook has fixed 3 chi broken legs, for chis I have pulled on my own and the cost for each is never over $ 300.00.
Karen L. replied:
Westridge Animal Clinic on old Hwy 80 or Camp Bowie West they may call it now, used to work with rescues but not sure anymore. Also, ABC Clinic near downtown FW used to work with rescues.
Are there any vets locally that see reptiles? My son's lizard gecko looks like it has an eye infection. It just shed and everything I'm reading says it's likely retained...
Lisa C. replied:
Yes. Dr. Stanfill at Animal hospital of Ovilla sees all exotics. 972-617-9996

Check with Dr Minser in Waxahachie. I think he saw our Gecko when it was sick.

Darenda I. replied:
9727232072 is Dr Rookes number. He is amazing and very fair on pricing. You will not be disappointed.
Katie R. replied:
Dr. Rook is an amazing vet but wont do payments. Alvarado vet clinic is also an awesome vet clinic and they will do payments. I use both clinics, Dr. Rook for every day stuff and Alvarado for big stuff and emergencies.
I don't know if this is allowed but I rescued a dog about a month ago from a shelter. Ever since I got her she has throwing up several times and she shakes and has...
Leslie H. replied:
Dr Rook seems to be less expensive. What shelter? Sometimes they take care of issues for free for animals adopted from them.
Angela G. replied:
I would definitely get in touch with Dr Rook at 14 th St Vet Clinic. He is very reasonably priced. He has walk-in hours. Not exactly sure what time they start, but if you call up there, they can tell you.
Please help me find a home for this little guy... I can't keep him. I will be bringing him to the vet tomorrow for first round of kitten shots, deworming and FelV/FIV...
