Photographer looking for hammock suggestions. I am a photographer from the Midwest looking to purchase a hammock for myself and my girlfriend. I am looking for a hammock...

If looking to both use the hammock together, you certainly want a double, such as the eno doublenest. I really like my doublenest. However, for your height, if you want to sleep in it, you'd want a longer hammock. I made the mistake of getting the eno doublenest and then trying to sleep in it as a 5'11" man. The eno is only about 9 feet long, while some others are around 11 feet. The longer the hammock, the easier it is to get that diagonal lay going, as to lay nice and flat. Also, as much as hammock cuddles are possible and nice, after a while, it gets a bit... crowded. This is due to the nature of hammocks having everything slide down to the center. I certainly recommend getting two set ups. So, as I said, I do like my eno. I don't have much experience though. Dutch Ware is a good site if you really want to spend some time building your own, plus they have 11 footers for us taller folk. As for your girlfriend, an eno at 9 feet should be plenty of hammock. Perhaps a doublenest for her/cuddles, and an 11 footer for yourself. I highly recommend [these adjustable tree straps](https://www.google.com/search?q=thermarest+slacker+suspenders&newwindow=1&espvd=2&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi2sLHP4rLTAhVJzmMKHTuhCswQsxgIJQ&biw=1417&bih=729). They make setting up my hammock a breeze, both in finding trees that work (long for large diameter, also long for wide spread trees) and also super easily adjustable once set up, as to get that perfect hang going. One thing newer hammockers seem to skip is ridgelines. I highly recommend researching them and building/purchasing one. It will improve your experience, as they offer a place to hang items such as water or shoes, but mainly keep your hang consistent, as the slack of the hang changes the feel of the hammock, but the ridgeline controls the slack. Feel free to ask any more questions. I rather enjoy the building/setting up of hammocks, almost more than I enjoy laying in them! Best of luck!

if you haven't put a ring on it you definitely don't wanna share a hammock with it. -beyonsay

The marketing brainwashing by eno always amazes me. If you need to pick up a hammock today from an rei get an eno. If not there are cheaper, lighter stronger, longer and more comfortable options. You can get a dutchware with suspension for the same price as an eno and it will be superior in everyway.

I have an eno doublenest deluxe that I'd sell you... I'm in Wisco. The DN Deluxe is enormously wide, still only 9' long... I have slept in it overnight by myself, it was okay, but I'm 6'1", so I now have an 11' hammock from Dream-Hammock.com for myself and a 10' one for my wife. My Eno is the "Jamaican/Rasta" color scheme... red, yellow, green.. I can't remember if there is a black section or not.

I have my Eno that I use with my boyfriend on a consistent basis and we love it! It was totally worth the investment. Plus, it can easily be used as a single person's hammock. I love it because I can cocoon myself inside of it and just ignore the world around me! I love my ENO!
