Any ideas on an affordable dog dental cleaning near or far from RW? The place on Oakland in Shorewood said it could be up to $1000 for our 65 lb guy! Yikes.

I trust Silver Spring Animal Wellness Center. Dentals are priced on how yucky the teeth are. Grade 1, 2, and 3. Extractions cost extra if a tooth needs to be pulled. A level 1 cleaning is $242, but you would also need to do preanesthetic bloodwork which would be another $100 and an exam. I worked there for 8 years and know that the level of care is high. Please mention that I referred you if you go. I believe that you will also get 10% off. http://www.silverspringanimalwellness.com/

I also recommend silver Spring Animal Wellness. They took very special care of our cancer stricken pup until the very end. They are accommodating and so personable and caring. We switched to them when our previous vet, Bayshore Animal on Oakland, was horrible (physically and verbally) to our dog. And they didn't even find the cancer.

Saint Francis is great, as is Mayfair. I wouldn't sent anyone to Bayshore, too many horror stories!

St. Paul Veterinary

I second the Raw bones for dental health. I have only had to do dentals when there was another reason (tumor on the gums etc). Raw bones have kept my dogs all with healthy teeth. Milwaukee Pet Supplies has locally sourced and CHEAP raw bones. Probably the cheapest in Milwaukee to be honest
Michelle D. replied:
Emily Paige Peterson where do you get your bones? Lindsay Leigh I feel the same way about Bayshore Vet, not a good experience for our family. St Paul has been great in the past 6 years
Tanya F. replied:
Bayshore Vet has always been incredible with our animals. We've been through thick and thin for 20+ years. Loyalty is one of their best attributes.
Barbara A. replied:
Call Wright's Brown Deer Animal Hospital. He used to work at St. Paul. And I appreciate him and his prices.
Cari K. replied:
Call Dr Tom kruske. He is,a traveling vet. Very reasonable
Melissa W. replied:
I think I paid around $250 at Bayshore Animal Hospital for my 75 lb dog.
Lindsay L. replied:
Do NOT go to Bayshore vet on oakland. Go ANYWHERE but there. Small Animal hospital is pricey, but they provide excellent care. Otherwise st paul vet is wonderful and very reasonably priced.
