In desperate need of a carpenter, a builder, who can come out and give us an estimate. Anyone have any names in MN to recommend?? Please??
Cindy L. replied:
We could use both Megan. If you could give me the numbers, that would be great. John Gilligan, we have. Either people don't want to come out, or they do come out, and then don't come back with a bid. It is very, very frustrating.
Cindy L. replied:
Louie Tran, 0 they screwed us. We have to take them to small claims. They won't fix the mistakes they have made.

If you just want a knife you can carry everyday for light use, and if you can handle one called the "Lady Bug", I highly recommend Spyderco's. I carry one on my keychain and I've lost like 3 to airport security. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017UVI94/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1

tree removal recommendations? (new brighton) i have a dead tree in my front yard that i need gone ASAP. been putting it off for years, and now its got a pretty nasty...

Logger in a former life here. If all you're worried about is falling the tree, I can stop by tonight, and down it for you. I'd ask for beer, but it would literally take less than 5 mins. I've been the "tree guy" in my group for years. Even though it may be leaning in the opposite direction, it can easily downed to fall in the spot you want since it's dead, and the wood has no water weight behind it. PM me if you're interested.

I had a some tree work done and I can definitely tell you to not use Eager Beaver Tree Service located on Dale in Roseville since they use uninsured contractors. My neighbors recommend Rainbow Tree Care and I have seen their equipment out in my neighborhood quite frequently this summer. I had a very bad experience with Eager Beaver where the tree removal person they sent out damaged my neighbor's house, rip up my yard with their truck, rip up my neighbors yard with their truck, and then had the gall to demand cash payment while hustling me for more money than what was agreed upon.

The City of New Brighton has a Forester. If the tree is close enough to the street, the City will pay half of the cost. Try calling the City Hall.

I work for a metro based mining company. We use reliable tree service. You you google them, they are local and very professional. They do some private jobs but cost is high with any company now. (I googled them http://www.reliabletreesandcrane.com/)

I've been really happy with [Treehugger Tree Care](http://www.mntreehugger.com/), but honestly that looks like a pretty easy tree to handle yourself. Rent a chainsaw or ask a friend. You'll save yourself a couple hundred bucks.

Depending on how fit you and your friends are I would just tie a line 2/3 s of the way up and cut it down using the line and relief cuts to fell it. A little dangerous, but not too bad if you have more line than tree. Not that big a tree really.

Anyone have any recommendations for kitchen remodelers? We are looking into having our kitchen redone which will entail custom cabinetry. Thanks.

We highly recommend Karen Casey from Koala Enterprises. Her number is (763) 234-7134. She painted our entire interior and handled some exceptionally-troublesome patchwork on our plaster and a few small sections of drywall.

We just painted over 2,100 SF of a smoker's former paradise. Kayla gave us the best value and customer service. Bonus: she is a former cabinet maker and takes extra good care of cabinetry and woodwork. http://ivarsoninteriors.blogspot.com/?m=1

The Finished Basement Company in St. Louis Park. I know, right, a basement company but they have started dabbling in kitchens now too. Not the cheapest but they pride themselves in a guaranteed completion date and guaranteed project cost, unless you change something midstream. They finished my basement and I've been super happy.
