What about meeting at the MIA just outside their coffee shop- lots of tables, free, and quite beautiful. I think you can do the same at the Walker - not sure of either's hours though. Dunn Brothers in Excelsior has a little meeting room - as does the Eden Prairie one.

Cafe LeVain isn't open on MOnday nights so they might let you use their restaurant, we have done that before for a few PTA meetings. Turtle Bread is still open so you can get coffee from there.

I was going to suggest Turtle Bread on Chicago, lots of tables but spotty wi-fi. I noticed Yum! near Lake Calhoun has a separate area with big tables but have not looked into it.

I would email the Department of Writing Studies at the U (writ@umn.edu) and ask to be put in tough with the person who teaches their Grantseeking/Proposal Writing course. I took it a number of years ago and we had to write a proposal for a grant for an actual organization in order to pass the course. Another option is to contact the Community Service Learning Center at the U (csl@umn.edu) and ask to meet with them about opportunities you have for students to help out. When I was a Community Engagement Scholar through the CSLC I wrote a few grant proposals for orgs and the CSLC provided with the support I needed to do so.
