Two weekdays in Minneapolis - restaurant recommendations? Hi,
I'm coming in from out of town. Will be staying downtown and will have a rental car.
Could you kind folks...

Depends on what you are after. 1) There's food sourced from MN, 2) MN food, and 3) places that are MN institutions or famous 1. Bachelor Farmer and French Meadow 1. Jucy Lucy (which means Matts or 5-8 club), some dish with wild rice in it, walleye 1. Travail, Brasa, Masu, Moto-i (there's a ton more of these) __ My knowledge is limited since we have such a dynamic restaurant scene All things being equal I would hit Matts Bar (because famous), Moto-I (b/c the neighborhood is cool), and Montecarlo (because the interior is old school and the patio is nice) If I wanted to brag to my friends I would go to Travail (probably long wait times) Also try a cold press from Caribou, they are amazing.

Tilia or The Copper Hen for American fusion type food. Tullibee for excellent Scandinavian food. But what makes the twin cities special is the Vietnamese & East African communities. Their food is AWESOME. Pho Tau Bay for the BEST Vietnamese food. Bolé or The Red Sea for Ethiopian.

Italian Pie shop makes great deep dish. Carbones gets mixed reviews in our family, some love it and some think it has quite a bit of salt and grease. Craig Schulz( LNFI parent) makes the best woodfire pizza in St. Paul!
