Re: hair salons, I'm not sure what's down there, but I have a feeling it'll be a bit pricey, as you're talking about high rent districts. For nails, though, I would totally recommend going to Delmar College, as a) you will pay less, and b) the students there follow very strict protocols re: sterilizing their tools. No cheapie UV lights (which don't kill all of the bacteria). They autoclave their instruments, which means high pressure/high heat, which is the only way to truly sterilize (it's what hospitals do). The students are always looking for clients, as they have to do so many manis/pedis to complete their courses.

Depends what you're looking to get done...just a regular manicure, gel nails, fancy designs, etc. I live in Mission and usually go to Esnail, just a short drive down Macleod Trail. This is the first salon I've stuck with for doing my gels. They do a great job and many different designs, and they're the first salon I really felt like they took their time to do it carefully/flawlessly. Also at a decent price. I got my nails taken off and new gels with gems about a week ago and it was only $55. You can see some of the designs on their IG [here.](https://instagram.com/esnail_calgary/)
New year...new me...it's time...need suggestions for a hair stylist...preferably someone who knows how to work with fine hair. Need a change..drastically. Help!
