Anyone have any ideas for any kind of relief, Short term or long term, for T.M.J. (jaw alignment issue) Dr/Dentist has already said not much can be done, just want to...
Kristina F. replied:
Occlusal guard! Also Will go to a specialist not a regular dentist! I go to Dr. Reva Barewal in Clackamas and she's amazing. Dr. Barewal is a specialist for TMJ. Unfortunately not much you can do. I understand the pain completely. It can be completely all consuming. To the point where I can't even open my mouth. Migraines are debilitating also at times for days. My disc is deteriorating on my left side and right but it's my left side that is awful. My jaw is fully dislocated on left and partial on right. I can barely open my mouth and have to always watch what I eat. DMSO cream helps on the left side. I get it and mix it with like Sam bra, also bud rub cream helps with CBD tincture in it. Pain meds, etc..but in all honesty we are just screwed.
Barbara W. replied:
Had TMJ surgery about 20 years ago because it popped out on both sides. Nothing the therapist could do. They tried a lot of things. Bio feedback - learning to relax my jaw & mouth was the best thing as now when I feel it tensing those muscles I know to relax. Fast forward 15 years we now have a chiropractor who told me he wished he could have helped me with my TMJ. So I'd recommend a chiropractor who does this. Mine is in Hillsboro but worth it.
Amy B. replied:
I have Herbst appliance. Samuel Higdon in Portland is extremely helpful, I highly recommend him. Good luck, TMJ sucks!
Lou A. replied:
Dr Shaw
Angela O. replied:
Katie Ann Melendrez
Kathy M. replied:
Talk with Lena Armas@Alternative Physical therapy here in Molalla. She may be able to help you. I had a dentist that changed my bite by reshaping my teeth....sounds too simple but it actually helped immensely. This post makes it clear how many suffer with TMJ.
Connie M. replied:
Will Ohrt My daughter works at Natural Health Works in Oregon City .. she is a massage therapist but this clinic also does acupuncture, prolotherapy, and many other natural techniques. They try to look into the whole body to find and solve problems. You might at the least talk to them to see what they might say. They are very good !!!! They are located across the road from the OC library. .. they are on FB but I can't get the link to load .. just look up Natural Health Works, PC.
Will O. replied:
Feel free to PM me any info. Thank you so much to the one who did, so much information to digest. I didn't even know Ehlers Danlos existed, I thought it was all TMJ but there's so many other symptoms that line up. Gonna do more research then time for the dr. Appt. To figure this out....
Shanna D. replied:
I struggle with tmj. I've made it through several flare ups by going to physical therapy or the chiropractor. Valley chiropractic has some techniques she does that work on me. Look up jaw exercises for physical therapy, they help. When resting make sure your jaw is not clenching, place your tongue on the roof of your mouth about a centimeter or to from your front teeth. This is the relaxed position your jaw is supposed to be in. Mine never goes away. Tmj sucks, stress makes it worse. Will Ohrt
Hi neighbors, I wonder if you can help me. My dentist started acting very rudely, and I wonder if it's because we pay cash instead of insurance. Are there any...
Aaryn P. replied:
We pay cash and see Dr. Brett Johnson in OC; he and his staff are awesome!
Kirsten M. replied:
Dentist off main! Best place ever! Olesya Salathe is the most caring dentist and does so much for our community.
Veronica J. replied:
If your willing to go to Canby every single person at Holly St dental is awesome... cheerful place where you feel loved and very well taken care of!
Sarah W. replied:
Hmm. That's odd. Usually dentists prefer cash pay because they get their money right away instead of waiting two months for insurance claims to be paid. We pay cash and go to Fountain Valley dental and get cash pay discounts.
Betty W. replied:
How rude!! I go to Fountain Valley Dental and they have always been very nice as I pay my bill by cash.
Sarah W. replied:
I have been to the dentist off main also but their prices were quite a bit higher than fountain valley for cash pay. Dr Salathe pulled a tooth for me, it got a dry socket, went in and was told I couldn't be seen for it for several days!? Went over to fountain valley dental and they saw me within 15 minutes without an appt and packed the dry socket for me as they know how painful that is. And they had me come back in every other day for a week to have the dry socket repacked and all at NO charge...even though they didn't pull the tooth. So I have stayed at fountain valley dental and plan to continue. Dr Ben Whitted is awesome!!
Kris W. replied:
I always pay with debit (or maybe even a check) when I see Dr. Baumgartner (who I LOVE) and there's never an issue.
ok,, I have not had good experiences with dentist,,its hard to get me deadened so who knows a great dentist hopefully in Molalla,,

Violet H. replied:
Dr. Baumgartner. I have extreme anxiety with denists. Him and his team are always so helpful and caring. I hadn't been to the denist in some 20 yrs before I went there. They've even broken up my appts to ease me into it. They do my cleanings in quads. And make sure I am completely numb and also they use that laughing gas stuff. Dr. B is simply amazing!!
Debbie H. replied:
Dr. Mclean or Dr Melby. Kind and honest and have your best interest at heart.
