The Monroe Rec Camp summer program is for 5 weeks starting right after school gets out. Great program. They liaise with Active Kids of Monroe who have an after care bridge to the rec camp program and also run a program for the 3 weeks after the rec camp program ends. The Active Kids of Monroe is in active registration now. The rec camp program doesn't do registration until very late - April or May even.

Jamesburg runs a summer program, open to non residents. Extended care available 7 am-6 pm, I believe. It's held at JFK Elementary School on Front and Davison streets. Tons of activities daily, trips weekly. Probably similar to Monroe Rec camp, but with extended hours. Try this number for info-(732)521-0244

My daughter has been going to Girl Scouts Camp River Ranch day camp and overnight since kindergarten. She is painfully shy, but has a great time and asks to go back every year. It is next to Remlinger Farm in Carnation and there is a shuttle bus available. The counselors have all been great and the fun plentiful. You do not have to be in Girl Scouts to attend, but you would need to pay a registration fee of $25
