We love Dr Hubbard at Countryside too. And his prices are the best around!
Kirsten S. replied:
We use Fox Valley Dog grooming. They are so nice there and our dogs are never stressed when they come home. For a vet we use Banfield Dr Tipton but everyone there is great. For a PCP I see Dr Aye Unnoppet, she is great!
Cheryl H. replied:
-Primary doctor - we use Mark Ricketts but he is in Vestavia -Veterinarian - Jay Price at Oak View and would not even consider changing at this point we are so happy -Large breed dog groomer - have had decent luck at Petsmart and also with Helena Veterinary Clinic though they have changed their system and we were not thrilled. -Professional lawn care - no recommendation to offer unfortunately. Best of luck finding somewhere you are happy with for all of the above!
Amanda T. replied:
Dr. Aye is primary and love her. I wouldn't recommend Shelby Animal either for all the reasons above as well. I keep hearing from EVERYONE about the one in Montevallo may give him a try. Female doc--Dr. Head is great. For yard we use Dependable Lawn care. Angela from Happy Hounds is a traveling groomer. She is fantastic. She costs a little more than some but if far better. Most say Fox Valley is best.
Nicole V. replied:
Can you tell how much Doc is loved around here 205-665-2226 countryside
Kathy P. replied:
Montevallo Animal Clinic, they are the best. We have a Yorkie that is 13 years old and she got down and they took care of her. Put it this way they would not let me take her home without a doctors cell phone number. They are really reasonable too. All three doctors is great, even the staff.
Nicole V. replied:
Dr. Head women's dr. Pediatrician Dr. Mccown my kids and now grand kids see him . Urgent care in Pelham is good and usually get you in and put quicker than AFC.
Allie T. replied:
Doc Head is also my OB/GYN. He's great. We always talk about Bama football! LOL!! So is "Doc Z" (same office he's called that because he has a weird last name). My son's Ped is Dr. Jeff Malone at Southtrace Ped. Although they are in Hoover...it's very easy to get to. They are just off 459. For our groomer we used the groomer at the Airport Vet. Doc Hub's office will wash and bathe but they don't groom. Mozie was a 55 lb Collie.

Kerri P. replied:

Dawn O. replied:
bad experience at Shelby Animal Clinic here too. I use At Home Pet Care, Dr. Missy Johnson. She is a mobile vet and comes to your home in her vet on wheels
Stephanie B. replied:
Let's just say I second everyone's voice about staying away from Shelby Animal Clinic. They look for full time help about every 3 mos. They treated my dog without telling me what they were going to do and charged over $200. Was not happy. I now see Dr. Hamilton at Banfield (love her), groom at Petsmart, but we have dogs that just get nails etc... done, don't get hair trimmed. We do our own lawn and see the drs down at Maxwell AFB.
Victoria's S. replied:
Pediatrician: Dr Matheson, Alabaster Pediatrics. I could use a recommendation for primary dr too. We take our dog to PetSmart for grooming and there is veterinarian office in there called Banfield. We use Fairway Lawn. Hope this helps.
Kathy P. replied:
Also I take the girls to Posh Pets in Pelham. Cost close to $50 for hair cut.
Victoria's S. replied:
Women's Dr: Shelby OBGYN- I got to Dr Jacqueline Hancock- but I see lots of recommendations for that office too (Dr Head, Dr Zaharias)

For Primary Dr. Colvard in Pelham great physician!
Allie T. replied:
Doc Hubbard!!! He is amazing and so is his staff. They all did everything they could to save our Collie, Mozart, last summer. Mozie was fine one day and then the next he wouldn't eat. In less than a week we had to put him down. Doc Hub cried, Jan, at the front desk cried...heck we all cried!! I got the most beautiful card from all them about a week after his passing. It also included a packet of wildflower seed which we planted in our yard.
Susan W. replied:
Vet: Philip Hubbard at Countryside. Animal Hospital.
Michael W. replied:
Vet: Dr. Z at the Shelby County Animal Hospital. Large (or small) dog groomer: Fox Valley Dog Groomers. Doctor...For the kids? Baskinsky. Sorry, I take care of my own lawn.
Linda L. replied:
Hi Jessie! Love American Family Care for primary. You may get a diff. DR every time but they are open 7 days a week. Fabulous for emergency care. For women visits I highly suggest DR. George Zaharias in Alabaster (Google him). Fabulous office & DR. For a vet try Montevallo animal clinic (I think that's what it's called).
Shelly M. replied:
Dr Phillip Hubbard is the best vet......I wish he took care of people
Can anyone recommend a dog groomer for a dog who absolutely hates being groomed? Need someone with a lot of experience with nervous, anxious dogs!
Jeana K. replied:
Tana Tanna Dale. She comes to you and is amazing!
Suzanne G. replied:
Regina Gentry. Awesome!!
Jana C. replied:
Rachel Warren Stone is the best. My dog is the same way and she stayed with her the entire time and treated her as if she was her own! She just opened her own business too.
Edward K. replied:
A friend took her dog here since Pet Smart won't take him anymore since he hates getting his nails done. He sat there with a smile for them at Shampoochies. https://www.facebook.com/shampoochiesspamontevallo/
Amanda T. replied:
Regina Gentry is AMAZING! I tried Petsmart for my Siberian husky and that was awful, but Gina has worked wonders with two of my huskies.
