We stayed here in feb 2012 was across the road from the beach ,down the other end of the main bangla road ( night clubs, go go bars etc) but still within walking distance, and only a short 5 min walk to the O top, ( lots and lots of shopping) and plenty of resturants about, the resort has two street entrances beach front and side alley, there is a convience shop across the road for supplies and a shop who does laundry cheap. The resort has two swimming pools one with a swim up bar, and the other is quite large. Breakfast was supplied daily and all the staff were exceptionally friendly. http://www.phuket.com/horizonbeach/

I just got back from Thailand (was my second time) if you want cheap I.E $20 a night try the Patong Paradee. Safe and clean, just a little off the beach. Or if you want a beautiful hotel in the heart of it all try the Bursari it's AMAZING!! It's around $50-$100 a night. I found www.hotels.com the best. Have a great trip xx
