Courtney B. replied:
Not sure about dr. Fox. Gavin sees Dr. Golz at port city pediatrics and we ADORE him!! He is very well informed of everything we've ever had questions about and really takes his time and doesn't rush our visits.
Andrea F. replied:
Artison sees Dr. Fox. We originally (during pregnancy) planned on brining Arti to our family doctor, who is a DO, instead of a pediatrician. Dr. Golz delivered him, but while we were in the hospital (for 9 days), Dr. Fox just happened to be the one that came to check on him and keep me posted on everything. I was in a total panic when they told me he couldn't go home right away like we were expecting, and she made me feel SO much better. I always feel like when we go, she actually listens to my concerns, and then explains things in a way that I understand without making me feel silly. I like that she's 'real', I can relate to her. I was worried about the dosage of Benedryl to give to Arti because the ER doctor told me 1 tsp, and so did the telephone nurse. But the pharmacist freaked out and made me think I overdosed my baby, because he should never have more than a quarter of a teaspoon of anything. Dr. Fox told me I did the right thing, 1 tsp is correct, and really a quarter of a teaspoon is a lot like pissing in the ocean, it doesn't do a whole lot. I knew then that I had the right doctor for us.
Liz L. replied:
Lol sounds like my type of lady Andrea Fearnley. We have a meeting with Dr. Fox on the 20 th so I was hoping someone had her. I've heard a lot of people love Albain but I was thinking she may be more comfortable with a female dr later on in her teenage years.
Jessi W. replied:
I have heard bad things about Dr. Mikesell...but then again, those are just those parent's opinions.
Brooke Z. replied:
I'm sure whoever you pick will be great. The girls LOVE Albain. My only question is what happens if you have a boy next? Would you bring him to a male ped?
Andrea F. replied:
The big kids see Dr. Mikesell. He seems fine, their mom likes him, he gives the kids money to buy a gum ball from the machine. He's old, though. All of the doctors have a medical degree. They are all qualified to treat your child. What makes one stand apart from the others is how they make YOU feel. Find someone you're comfortable with, and you'll be happy. I like Dr. Fox because she has little kids, she's younger (probably close to my age), I can relate to her as a mother, and to me that's super important. Others might relate to an older person more kind of like a parent, or other authoritative person. I know it seems silly, but I like the way Dr. Fox dresses. She's totally hip, which makes me feel like she's up to date with current trends in parenting, and the latest medical studies. Like I said, just find someone that makes you feel right. And you can always change your mind, nothing is permanent.
Brooke Z. replied:
I totally agree with you Andrea. Dr. Albain has a daughter Kendalls age and she also does gymnastics so we see him at the studio all the time. He talks the lingo of kids and always takes the time to explain things to me. He never rushes through appointments and will actually sit and shoot the shit. It's nice to know there are so many good options out there for parents.
Sharlene N. replied:
Dr Golz is awesome there. He is a little older, but he spends a lot of time with you.
Recommendations for pediatricians? Shoreline Pediatrics went downhill once Kim Fenbert left. ={.
Brandy W. replied:
Dr. Alban at Port City Pediatrics. He's been awesome with Addy!
Jennifer C. replied:
We see Dr. Alban as well, he is great!
Danelle S. replied:
Port city peds - Dr Pallante
Shelly B. replied:
Dr Pallante! She is at Port city pediatrics and she has never hesitated to react quickly to anything she finds! When she heard clicking in Aria's hips at her 6 month check up she sent her to x ray right away. She did the same with her heart murmur at birth! Thankfully they both turned out to be nothing to worry about, but I love that she doesn't ignore small things!
