Justin Chow in my experience you pay one month deposit plus the current month in commercial properties, but if you requiere to get a licencia de obra, negotiate with owner not pay rent until you can open the business. This is called 'periodo de carencia' also better get professional advice on licenses, because this is a nightmare in Malaga... took me 7 months to get mine. Good luck
