Any suggestions for a weekly car rental? Best deals, coupons etc.

I would not recommend Alamo and Enterprise, owned by the same corporation. I had a really bad experience with them about 10 years ago and I haven't forgotten it. They were by far the cheapest for the rent of a van for a week to drive a group to Disney World. No comparison about the price, not even close to any one else. However they wanted me to pay for the insurance when I arrived to get the van. It was OUTRAGEOUS, I showed my proof of insurance from my car insurance company and got quite the strong arm treatment about THEIR insurance being better. I stayed with my own insurance. When I returned the van they found a ding that was literally the size of a dime on the back lift gate. Since no one had inspected the van before I took it, including me, they claimed it was not there when I rented it. I contested. They sent me a bill for almost $1000 to pay for the ding repair. My insurance company contested it. Alamo turned it into a collection agency. I wrote the attorney for the collection agency and asked them to sue me so we could settle this in court, and I never heard anything else about it, and there's no record of it on my credit report. From that time on, I rent from Hertz, and I have never had any problem at all.

The Murfreesboro Toyota dealership rents cars too. Mainly vans and a few SUVs and cars. Their prices have always been really good. Last year, I rented a van for 9 days for $450 during July 4 th when it would have been well over a $1,000 everywhere else.

Check out flyertalk.com - in the miles/points forum each car rental company has a board. You should be able to find a pinned post in each board with the latest discount codes and info on how reliable they are.

Its been a few years but Dollar Rentals has extremely good deals, particularly if you take it out and return it on a weekday. I do not recommend Enterprise tho!!! Very bad experiences with them!!

Try kayak.com for price comparisons. Some advice: (a) book in advance (the price can go up steeply if you don't book before the day of rental), (b) off-airport locations often offer better rates, (c) some of the low-priced companies offer low rates but make up the difference by trying to stick you with high-priced extras like insurance, so make sure you verify up front that such extras are indeed optional, and stand your ground when you actually sign the contract. Also (d) don't pay for an upgrade. If they're trying to sell you an upgrade it might mean that they're out of small cars, but if you have a reservation for a small car they have to rent a car to you at that price even if they're out.

If you like Thai/Laotian food, my wife and I went to this amazing place tucked in the back of an asian market. It's the best Thai we've ever had. http://www.kingmarkettn.com/ Martin's Barbecue was pretty good and they had a nice hot bbq sauce. I really regret that I never got to try the hot chicken while I was there. Maybe next time.

Well Nashville hot chicken started there so you should have plenty of options on chicken. Hattie b’s and prince’s both claim to be the original. I’ve heard good things about Bolton’s too.

Haven't gotten around to doing this, but let me know how it goes if you do: https://www.bigshakeshotchicken.com/death-row-challenge/ Pepper Palace in Opry Mills for hot sauces (although check out the selections at Bass Pro and Kitchen Collection first since they carry some of the same stuff for cheaper). K&S international market has Samyang 2x ramen and assorted sauces and spices all over the store. The "local" shelves at Kroger and Publix usually have a couple. Trader Joe's habanero sauce and ghost pepper grinder are both surprisingly hot for something in a grocery store. If you pass through Chattanooga look for Hoff sauce in the stores. I hope this thread doesn't turn into Hattie B's vs Prince's vs Bolton's vs etc, but it probably will. Definitely don't ask r/nashville about hot chicken. Check out their [sidebar](https://www.reddit.com/r/nashville/wiki/index) though.
Does anyone know of a truck rental company (or individual if need be) where I can rent one to tow around equipment? I'll be busy today and not on facebook so I'll touch...
