Can you solder? When my Vizio did the same thing two years ago, all that was needed was replacing a few blown capacitors. It happened again this weekend and instead of replacing again, I'll replace it with a LCD that uses less energy.

Googling shows http://gabeselectronics.com If it's capacitors (which it often is), that's a pretty cheap and easy fix as long as you have a decent soldering iron. Otherwise, the state of the art in TV's is advancing quickly enough that it doesn't make sense to hold onto your old one. There are entire rows of 4K LCD's at Costco, and a modern quantum dot display can do almost as good a job at matching dark colors as a plasma. Plus newer TV's often have 4+ HDMI ports, built-in Netflix, DLNA streaming, etc. The most wonderful thing about 4K TV's is that because of them, excellent 1080 p TV's have never been cheaper.
