We are coming up on a year out for my son's wedding and are looking for places to hold a dinner/reception after the wedding. We plan on looking into our military...

Unsure on locations to use, but Golden Corral does a pretty decent catering, from wht I see during the Chamber of Commerce breakfasts, so they might be a possiblilty.
Nick B. replied:
1. Golden Corral will kill you. In my experience, sanitation is not a priority for them. 2. Hurlburt and Eglin clubs are not very competitive considering the alternatives. 3. Consider having every guest bring a specialty dish and having a really nice potluck. 4. Ask your friendly neighborhood bartender if they'd be willing to make some extra money and tend bar for the event if you find a space that doesn't have one. 5. Don't rule out places like Juana's, Stinky's, Hidden Creek, beach houses, etc...

Hidden Creek is nice. I would do it there. Hurlburt is a nice venue...wouldn't want to pay their prices for what you get.

For a Caterer, suggest, "Chefs ar your Door" owned by Mark Clutter (850) 226-2183 (http://chefsatyourdoor.webs.com/). We used Mark for our wedding and he cooked all the food fresh at the reception location and provided the cakes. When they were done, everything was cleaned like 100 people had not been there. Also concur that the Navarre Conference Center is a good venue. Could not have been happier.

Another vote for "The Club at Hidden Creek"
Mitch S. replied:
