Hey Abbey. I am so very sorry to hear of your experience you had at Sacred Heart. Please reach out to Cat Outzen at 416-4713 or send her an email at coutzen@shhpens.org with the information so she can address your problem immediately. I am on the Sacred Heart Children's Hospital Patient and Family Advisory Council and we actually had a discussion this morning in our meeting about working on a permanent solution for the pediatric phlebotomist issues. I do know it is very high on the radar and something we will be working diligently towards. We take patient satisfaction with high regard and want to ensure your problem is addressed immediately. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions or concerns.
Abbey R. replied:
Thank you Kat Clemmons Lea, I will definitely shoot her an email. Thank you so much for reaching out. It definitely makes me feel better to know this is an issue they are actively trying to resolve. I should point out that the anesthesiologist, nurse and nurse anesthetist were very apologetic, but nevertheless weren't able to complete the requests, and the nurse did let me know that it was done as a "courtesy". Does Nemours not have a pediatric phlebotomist? What about The Children's Hospital at Sacred Heart?? I was told that children come from as far as Tallahassee, and there is no one they have on call to assure all necessary tests can be completed?? It's definitely frustrating.
Please help we just moved here not long ago, who is your favorite pediatric neurologist? And why? Looking for someone who will give me time and care for my child. Thanks...
