Looking for a recommendation for a doctor to get a 2nd opinion – experiencing chronic inflammation/pain in hip flexor & gluteus medius with no other hip issues (both...

I'm not sure whether it's a similar injury but I suffered terribly with a hip flexor problem last year and visited numerous Dr's, chiros, orthos and ultimately had a contrast MRI. Eventually I ended up with Dr. Kenneth Swan (who has now moved to Monmouth county) and he was great. After eight weeks of 3 x/week PT with active release I was back to training and ran Marine Corps two months later with no issues...and nothing since (fingers crossed!). Good luck, I know how frustrating it is!

I'm not so sure Dr. Connors would treat anything but your feet. I've been seeing him a long time and I've had hip issues along the way, and whenever I raise them to him, he always refers me to someone else.

I don't have hip issues but I highly recommend Brielle Orthopedics! After Seaview Orthopedics told me I couldn't run anymore and there was nothing they could do for me, I went to Brielle for a second opinion, got treated, and have been running ever since! Wherever you end up, good luck and feel better!

Bob Both I thought Dr Connors is podiatry only? Can he evaluate something like this?

I recommend an excellent PT. Both Mary Beth Glaccum and Robert Galizio can vouch for him. THANK YOU FELLOW RUNNERS! Looks like Matt Gerdes Freehold Health, Swan and all of University Ortho are not in my network, which unfortunately, counts them out. That must be why I'm not healing ;) Will definitely give Dr Connors a call. Glad to know he can work the whole body. I've been swimming for about 12 weeks and now my shoulder is starting to whinge so I have to start running soon. I'm 3 weeks into PT but thought since I'm not responding to that a cortisone shot would be the next step and that's not going to happen according to my doc. Gracie Ella I'll definitely keep you in the loop!
