My doctor of 33 years is retiring and I am looking to change to a doctor here in town.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Emily K. replied:
If your looking for a PCP, I go to Dr. Civitella at Monadnock Hospital.
Kari L. replied:
Dr Cooley in rindge is the best!
Kim C. replied:
Do NOT go to Dr Haley! He almost killed my husband because he wouldn't listen to his symptoms of an allergic reaction to a medication, ended up with a lengthily hospital stay because the medication was slowly killing him. He also didn't listen to my MIL illness when she wasn't feeling good, she ended up dying of an cancer a month later. I would NEVER ever ever recommend that office, and I will speak up every time his name is mentioned!
Stephanie C. replied:
Dr. Urban at hospital!!! Left Milford family practice because Chris Jacobson left and I couldn't get along with his replacement NP Trifalo

http://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-john-haley-33 xnh/background-check I found this website that shows he doesn't have any malpractice or sanctions against him. If he is as bad as everyone says, why hasn't someone done something about it? Not saying he isn't wrong in your situations, it just hasn't been my experience and I may have to reconsider him as our doctor. Thanks for the input.
Annie P. replied:
I believe that everyone has different experiences with the same Dr sometimes. While I see Dr Civitella in Peterborough & have for 6 yrs now, great Dr in my opinion, a few of my friends had her and had awful experiences with her so they switched Drs. No Dr is perfect & every Dr sometimes makes mistakes or misses something however if any Dr is making multiple mistakes & mis-diagnosis multiple times, it's def time to find a new Dr.

I liked Meg, dr. Haley's old nurse practitioner a lot. But as for him he has been fine. Though last year I went to him at the beginning of an upper respiratory infection and he just thought it was a cold or allergies. Then when my symptoms got worse one night I called into Best Doctors through my insurance and they recognized my symptoms and got me on antibiotics right away. If I waited longer I would've had pneumonia which I've already had. But I did feel that when I went to him in the beginning of the illness I was also suffering with my allergies so I wasn't sure of what I had until it progressed so I do feel I didn't describe my symptoms well enough either. But I am quite surprised to hear all of this.
Deb H. replied:
I go right here to Dr. Haley. His people are awesome.
Tammy P. replied:
Dr. Urban Rocks!
Sharon T. replied:
Stay clear of Dr Haley! Misdiagnosis, won't give you antibiotics when you NEED them. Got to spend a vacation at Point Sebago with a horrible sinus infection because he refused to give me antibiotics. I switched docs when I got back and go to Dartmouth Hitchcock in Nashua again. Hate the ride but like knowing I'm being listened to

I use Dr Haley and have for years ! I feel fine and I feel blessed!

Here is a link to actually check & as they say, it takes some DIGGING. They explain the different steps you need to go through, and much stuff can be hidden: https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/how-to-find-out-if-your-doctor-is-in-good-standing-it-takes-some-digging/2014/02/24/12 c31766-9915-11 e3-80 ac-63 a8 ba7 f7942_story.html

Looking for a Elbow Doctor (Orthopedic Surgeon). Not NH Orthopedics. Anyone know of any?
Karen S. replied:
I like Dr. Albert Tom at St Joseph's . He is orthopedic surgeon but I do not know if he does elbows. I saw him for my hand & knee.
Nina D. replied:
Jennifer A Charland George went to Concord orthopedics for his back. We loved them and there approach to making sure quality of life was improved. I'd highly recommend there office.
Jessica B. replied:
Look for doctors down in MA. Best hospitals in the world down there and they can sometimes do things very differently than up here. After my husband had 2 shoulder surgeries from a doc at NH Orthopedic, she told him she wasn't going to do anything else because she wasn't sure what the problem was. I respected her for knowing when to stop and she told us to go south for an expert. Try calling Boston Sports and Shoulder Center. One of their doctors is the head team Dr. For the Boston Celtics. They may have someone who can help you.
Amy M. replied:
Dr.Marks out of Southern NH Medical Center. His office is down the street from the hospital. He is amazing!
