Not a motel, but I would highly recommend the Marriott Northeast. It is within walking distance to Chabad, and its location is perfect if you want to be able to visit both the city and the outskirts. Number for Alicia from Chabad is +86 133-3108-2930, she should be able to help you with anything you need. If you want a driver/guide to take you around (great wall, summer palace..), count around 700-800 rmb a day. I forgot the name of the guy I used but his number is +86 139-0109-7665, he'll also walk around with you if you pay for his admission tickets.
I'm looking for a way to find Mordechai Sharkey or Motel Czarka in a New York area cemetery. Any suggestions. His death would have been sometime between 1906 and 1925

Does anyone know who at Washington Cemetery I can send a letter about relatives who might be buried within sections of Rymanow landsman? Do they charge? Thank you. Researching Chill family

I'm pretty sure the effort to create online databases of NYC cemeteries was organized by one person or group, but I can't seem to find who that is. Unless there are new ones, there are just 6. One is Mt. Zion: http://www.mountzioncemetery.com/search.asp

Hello everyone! I have guests coming from abroad and I am looking for a good motel/ hotel , can anyone recommend a good place near Rockaway Park , or even CrossBay,...
Cheap Hotel/Motel Hi, I was wondering if there's any cheap hotels/motels in NYC people would recommend. I don't meant cheap as in a hole in the wall but inexpensive. I'm...

What does "cheap" and "inexpensive" mean to you, dollar-wise? You really need to be *way* more specific if you want answers that aren't snarky bullshit and that actually help you out.

If you are only here a few days, then it makes sense to pay a little extra to stay centrally and cut down on subway/taxi costs. I don't know what your budget is, but I've found that the Hampton Inn (either Times Square north or south locations) are decent and about $100-120 a night. There's also the DoubleTree by Hilton Times Square South for about $90 a night. You won't get cheaper than that for central Manhattan.

Use the app Hotel Tonight. Track prices. Best deals are 3 days before to night of. Feel free to use my code ECROTTY too. You get 25 smackers and so do I. With my code, this is going to sound like a shill post but this is how I get rooms in NY on the cheap with no effort. If you want to put in a little more effort with a little more "risk" (you won't know what hotel it is for sure until you book), learn how to use betterbidding.com or biddingfortravel.com in conjunction with Hotwire and Priceline hidden hotels. Or, do airbnb. Most of the people here won't have opinions or much help to offer because they are from NY and have no need.

There are several hostels in the city if you want to go as cheap as possible, but keep in mind this often means taking your belongings with you every day. There are lots of ~$150/night hotels in Long Island City.

It is hard to find a room rate under $250 a night, but [Skyline Hotel](http://www.skylinehotelny.com/) has served me well. The only thing I don't like is that they charge extra for Internet. The [Paramount Hotel](http://www.nycparamount.com/)'s Broadway Petite room might be a good bargain too. There will be four different taxes added to your bill so expect to pay an additional $37 per night just for taxes. :(

Don't know how many people are with you or your budget or if you don't mind sharing a bathroom with other people on your floor (I think there were about four single-person bathrooms on my floor), but the bunk bed room at Pod 51 was $100/night when I stayed there. I thought it was a nice place considering how relatively cheap it was.

I got married in Long Island City and recommended several of hotels there to our out of town guests. The Boro is where my husband and I stayed on our wedding night and it's affordable and stylish. Other hotels in the area like the Paper Factory and Home2 Suites are also good deals. I would suggest Long Island City--it's an easy trip to Manhattan from there but you get a pretty solid price cut by not staying there.
Here's a tough one: I need a hotel/motel/room walking distance to UCLA campus the weekend of graduation, June 15-18. I've tapped out the hotels and I'm looking...

Are you cautiously looking at airbnb because of a bad experience? I've had nothing but amazing experiences with vrbo.com a similar site. If it's just because it's unfamiliar just read the reviews of the place before you book. We don't stay in hotels anymore because it's so much nicer and more comfortable to stay in these private rental homes

I've used VRBO and TripAdvisor. I had one good place, one so-so place and one person who turned out not to be legit. (I figured it out when he asked me to wire the money but I wasted a day thinking I had a place.)
