We need a name and phone recommendation for a local pediatric oncologist.
Someone for our Wayne NJ home base. Thank you.

Dr. Mark Souweidane, Director of Pediatric Neurological Surgery, has received FDA approval for a clinical trial for young patients diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). Dr. Souweidane is the Principal Investigator on the clinical trial, which will use a novel surgical technique (convection-enhanced delivery, or CED) to deliver a tumor-fighting agent directly to the site of the glioma, bypassing the blood-brain barrier that prevents most drugs from reaching these deadly brain stem cancers in children. (Find out more about DIPG.) They are now through several phases and the website says they are open for new patients.

Recommendations for an oncologist for cats? Need the very very best
Christina O. replied:
https://bluepearlvet.com/queens-ny/our-team/joshua-lachowicz-dvm-dacvim-oncology/ This is kind of far I know...but Dr. Lachowicz treated my doggie years ago in 2010 and he was absolutely brilliant. I mean...obviously it's hard to predict the biological behavior of cancer, but after course of curative intent radiation, I got an extra 5 years with my doggie (in fact she passed from something else.) Cats usually are treated with chemo rather than radiation so for a ride in every 3 or 4 weeks it may not be bad trip. But this guy (and his team) are brilliant.

Robin M. replied:
The colleagues of the office of Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez (who just recently passed away) do alternative cancer treatment. No chemo or poisons. Just supplements and diet and coffee enemas, etc. Look for him on Youtube. Some people think his protocol is too radical, but he has helped many people heal from different kinds of cancer and tumors. The downside is the treatment is very expensive!!!
Robin M. replied:
Also, Jin, Dr. Sheila George on W. 38 th Street does acupuncture, nutritional and dietary therapy, intravenous therapies, hormones, supplements, Chinese herbs, for treating chronic degenerative diseases and cancer. She is really skilled! http://centerformetabolicwellness.com/about/
