Can any NYC redditors recommend a wine tasting class? Ideally we'd like to find a class that combines French cooking and wine; or perhaps French wine and language class!...
Reclix replied:
I started a company that helps people find classes in NYC - see our list of ['wine classes results'](http://coursehorse.com/course/filter/keyword-wine/). Also, check out the [Chelsea Wine Vault](http://www.chelseawinevault.com/index.php/events-classes.html) and [BottleRocket](http://www.bottlerocketwine.com/shop/index.php?main_page=classes_current&iconName=classes1) for other great classes NOT currently on CourseHorse.

Windows on the World if you want to get serious. Zraly makes things simple but definitely gets into the down and dirty. Enhance by going to trade wine tastings. When you go pick one varietal and taste only that grape. After tasting 60 Chardonnays in a few hours, you'll definitely have a better understanding of the grape. http://www.windowswineschool.com/ I listen to daily French Pod at the gym (free on itunes) Great learning tool http://www.dailyfrenchpod.com/wordpress/2006/10/19/29-prononciation-r-pronounciation-r/ DM me if you want more tips - I'm a big win-o

My girlfriend got us a course on South American Wines at The Institute for Culinary Education (ICE). I had to say that it was not only delicious and informative, but a hell of a lot of fun. The instructor was the sommelier at Mario Batali's Spanish restaurant, so he knew his shit. Take a look at the courses available [here](http://www.iceculinary.com/wine/wine.shtml). BTW ICE is on West 23 rd Street in Manhattan, so its in the neighborhood you are looking for.
Buying Online Does anyone have any good website suggestions for buying NA beer? All of my local liquor stores stick to Busch, Heineken 0.0, O'Douls and St. Paulies....
tomtoaster replied:
Order some athletic, it’s a bit pricier than the brands you listed, but the IPAs are world class compared to most NA stuff.

I’ve been using DrinkNA.com. Lots of options. Most options available in 6 pks or individual cans, which is cool.

BevMo has decent selection of NA beers. Athletic, Sam Adams to name a few. I also order straight from brewery websites. Some of them will ship for free if you buy enough.

I just ordered the Juicy IPA from Untitled Art. $10 shipping is cheaper than most. Arrived in 4 days. Good stuff, will definitely buy it again if it becomes available locally.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, everyone. Looking forward to cracking some of these open while I fire up the grill.

I've found that if you go and talk to your local liquor store they can usually get whatever you want from a distributor, provided you can wait

natural wines in Astoria Went to a couple wine, spirits and liquor stores and most think organic means natural and I leave disappointed. Does anyone know of a well...
peaceaiwa replied:
Wine Stop on Broadway might have a few but probably isn't a major part of their stock. M. Wells in LIC is doing delivery including wine. Might not be the most natural but they usually have a good list. [Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels](https://www.compagnienyc.com/online-orders-swag) is a wine bar in Manhattan that is now delivering all over the city and surrounding area, they should have a good selection. [Air's Champagne Parlor](https://www.instagram.com/airschampagne/) is another spot in Manhattan that is delivering now and their list is great. (It's not just champagne, the list is extensive.)

Seconded Adega on Ditmars. They’ve started carrying wines from importers like Jenny & Francois (which specialize in natural wines). Adega carries a Pet Nat called City Pop that is out of this world delicious, a couple of reds, whites and a rosé (which was a steal at $14 and also super fucking delicious). Can’t remember the producer of the rosé, but just ask them if they have it back in stock (were sold out a month ago). Ask them to point you in the direction of the natural wines next time you’re there- they have a small but great selection. *forgot to add that Adega on Ditmars is open for i store buying and delivery...(adding an obligatory No, I don’t work for them! Haha)
ebastoria replied:
I’ve had natural wines from Adega on Ditmars but not sure if they’re open right now or if they regularly carry natural wines. Check Drizly!
MsSinistro replied:
Pardon my ignorance but what is a “natural wine”?
turkeybone replied:
[Astor Wines](https://www.astorwines.com/) is delivering free for the first order over $99 (not sure what subsequent delivery fees are tho). Their selection is *vast*.
ThereGoesTara replied:
Have you tried the liquor store at Astoria Bier and Cheese? I have no clue if they have natural wines, but they’re always super knowledgeable and thoughtful about their products.
