I volunteer at the shelter, you can come by any day between 10 and noon and someone should be there. If that time does not work for, you can call (503) 554-9285 and schedule an appointment to see an animal.

Project Pooch takes shelter dogs and has boys at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility train them. They work with you to make sure the fit is perfect. It is a win-win-win organization. Highly recommended.

The volunteers at the shelter (myself included) are working with Newberg Animal Shelter Friends and the city to figure out the shelter's future after animal control is gone on July 1 st. We are still there and operating now though! The front windows have blinds over them to keep the building cooler, I can see how it may look boarded up. We'll let the public know what is happening as soon as we get it ironed out. You can see our adoptable animals at newberganimals.com :)
