Sell everything you possibly can. Carry most of rest on plane yourself. Only ship absolute minimum of things. Shipping is expensive, fraud is very high, theft is very high, damage is very high. Avoid if at all possible.

Thanks for the recommendation and info! Fortunately she doesn’t have too much in the way of furniture or large valuables. It’s starting to sound like selling and rebuying will almost always be cheaper than international shipping, regardless of the item. Edit: Reddit mobile is terrible for responding to threads

I used http://www.rainieros.com when I moved to Turkey. They contracted local companies on both sides and managed the whole process. I was very happy. We moved a small amount (about 6 cubic meters).
