Does anybody know of a dentist that will pull some teeth and let me make payments? I need it asap! I have been in pain for about a week and I just can't deal with it...

A year ago yesterday I had an exploratory surgery to see if my appendix was really giving me problems. 1 doctor & 1 general surgeon said it was a cyst on my left ovary causing the pain on my lower right side. Sent me home the next day with antibiotics & pain meds. Was in & out of the hospital and doctors offices complaining the pain was getting worse. That I know it's my appendix & I want an appendectomy done asap. Was again told it's my ovaries & I need a hysterectomy done. I refused it & finally had a partial appendectomy & an illegal ovarian wedge resectioning done on May 17 of last year. Yes a partial appendectomy. I still have 2 -3 centimeters of my appendix left in causing repeat appendicitis attacks. The doctors made me sterile where I can't have kids. After an illegal yes I said illegal ovarian wedge resectioning. I never okay it nor did my husband for them to touch my ovaries. Why would I when my body was full of infection from my appendix leaking into my bowel track. I now have about 6 inches to 1 foot of scar tissue in the lower part of my abdomen. Since then I've became severally iron defendant & my red blood cells are very tiny. I may either have to be on prescription iron pills or a complete blood transfusion. Cause of a botched 2 surgeries in 12 days. So always go with your gut feelings. If things don't sound right or feel right. Get another opinion. Make sure you get proper care. Cause the doctors at Blackwell Regional Hospital & some at Ponca City Medical Center are cracks. Go to Enid, Stillwater, Tulsa, or OKC. Cause you mess with Blackwell or Ponca hospital & you might just die first.
Charlotte P. replied:
It was the same 2 doctors each surgery. Now they refuse me to go out to Blackwell hospital. I even have a trespass order on me. From Dr. Gordan Laird & Dr. Jeffrey Shuart.

Your mouth and teeth are body parts like an arm or leg but teeth/gum disease & infection doesn't need a dentist for an antibiotic I know, been there. I have got antibiotic for myself from the Kay a County a Health Dept but the clinic across from the hospital would NOT see my husband for an antibiotic since he had had a heart attack and we owe ER so much money afraid to go there but since clinic would not see him we went to ER anyway cause I was way too bull headed to not get him some help afraid of infection going to his heart AND ER DID SEE HIM & gave him a prescription for an antibiotic - penicillin cause so cheap (ER did gripe though I explained we tried the clinic but they said NO cause he had had a heart attack & ER said they just did not want to assume the responsibility cause of his heart attack) & this was not long ago & our doc was out of town so could not get prescription for antibiotic thru our doc. When we came out of ER they wanted some money but I only had enuf for a $3.50 penicillin prescription. I was Too determined to not let him die & wasn't going to let ER turn us away because of money ! His life was worth more to me than that & I guess they knew it because I was too determined for something so small.

Patty M. replied:
Gina Bowman you are so right about how that tooth infection can spread to the heart or brain because closest to the mouth. My husband had a heart attack and got a really bad tooth/gum infection & won't pull it until infection is gone, I was so desperate & did a walk in at the Kay County Health Dept on Fairview & he got an antibiotic & pay depended on income. Now that we have an established physician we can call him & he will just call an antibiotic in for him, he needs teeth pulled out desperately due to having had a heart attack but cost is just crazy I don't get it it so dangerous with infection but would cost over 1,000 bucks to get several teeth pulled because once abscess sets in on one tooth it spreads to teeth next to it, also caused a bad problem with his hearing until infection went down after 2 back to back refills of antibiotic! Try the ER We owe them a lot of money due to Hubby heart attack and PE in intensive care twice for several days but he had to get an antibiotic ASAP so we went to ER anyway and had zero money but got a prescription for an antibiotic -penicillin it is cheap & worked great! Good luck don't mess around with it go to ER they will NOT turn you away for needing an antibiotic & neither will the Health Dept but go to ER

Patty M. replied:
Is that emergency clinic out on 14 the across from the hospital still there? I know you can go to the Kay County Clinic without an appointment (pay depends on income) and get in to get an antibiotic for sure as I did a walk in for UTI & got antibiotic that day & did not have to pay in full. Pain is from infection and Kay County Health Dept. Did prescribe me an antibiotic at least !

I don't know wouldn't hurt to call. I know he is accepting soonercare and is wanting to build up a patient base. Some take post dated checks also if you have a checking account...I know Dr London did.

I was checking prices for pulling teeth a few months ago and Aaron Neele was the cheapest. He does one for just over $200 where everyone one else was over $300. He's in Blackwell. As much as it sucks there are no dentists or docs that take payments. If you have medicaid they may pay for extractions. At O U Health Center in OKC they have the dental school too. I believe they do an extraction for less than $100.
Christy C. replied:
I want to say that the dentist at the Newkirk Family Health Clinic does, but I'm not certain. It's a sliding scale fee. When I called to make an appointment they told me that it would be much faster to get in at their office in Hominy. It's only on certain days, though. The Newkirk Office is 580-362-2555
Heather R. replied:
There is a new one in Blackwell at Dr London's old office...you might try him.

It amazes me hubby reads the newspaper & tells me how many people & friends his age, 63 yrs old, die in the PC Med Center (as heart attack victims are usually air lifted OUT to OKC Heart ( best in my opinion-the location on Memorial in OKC) so maybe due to lack of good docs in this town but strange to me that so many people younger than 65 die in the hospital & their obituaries will usually say to send donations to a Cancer Fund if they have died I'd Cancer but 2 people I know have died of stomach cancer here at the hospital in just a few days because they did NOT know they had stomach cancer to begin with until having emergency surgery & finding out a& once air has hit it spreads worse and died within a few days & went to ER complaining of very severe stomach pain & could be their own dismissal of symptoms and not seeking out medical care a lot sooner so cannot blame the hospital for that but back in 2007 ER here had the BEST ER team I ever saw at the hospital I detached/broke my right hand & ER doc worked & twisted my arm & wrist doing a great job & a nurse told the ER doc " we don't do this in ER and the ER doc told the nurse " Well we are doing it tonite". The hospital had been sold to a new company around that tine & hired this great ER team! Saw one of them in Bartlesville ( he used to drive over here & worked with that ER group) & he said he would NEVER work again with that group who bought the Ponca hospital and Southcrest over in Broken Arrow & several others) so depending on what GROUP owns your hospital and what GROUP is hired to work in ER depends on your quality of care!!
