My children see a paediatrician but they were born here and we were directed towards a ped from North Shore Private where I had my kids. So you can see a ped if you choose. I recommend calling a few if that's the route you want to go. But most parents choose to see the Early Childhood Health Centre nurses for free check ups, then if they believe your child should see a Dr they will let you know (saves money on basic check ups). Each suburb has one. When I lived in the Northern beaches I went to Narrabean Family Medical practice. They were really nice.
