I went through something really similar a few years back. Dr Lantner (drlantner.com) was able to give me a payment plan, and his pricing was comparable to a dental school. He also offers discounts for cash payment. I worked with him over the course of two years to repair everything (long-term smoking & ED ravaged teeth) and while it sucked, it was manageable.

Go to Dr. Gary Griswold in Rockville...he's my childhood dentist and I just went back to him. He is way better than any dentist I've gone to in New York and he's not a shiester.

Best advice ever... Go to Switzerland! I got quoted for a 4K treatment by various NYC dentists, went to Zurich got it done for; wait for it, €50! I wouldnt do anything medical in Amerika...

I see an endodontist, Dr. Gentile in Trumbull (right near Hawley Lane Mall) who specializes in root canals but have always had my crowns done by Dr. Jason Oberhand in Trumbull on Rte. 111. Would recommend both but of course do not know which insurance companies they participate with.

Karen, after my experience I highly recommend driving to Darien to see Steve Rothenberg, if you can get an appt. he's a prosthodontist. Alan Rosenthal is an endodontist in E Norwalk and the periodontist I love now is Muchael Sonick in Fairfield. All are superior dentists and I will never select less than this level of care going forward.

I use Dr. Cono right here in Newtown. Just did 2 crowns and very pleased.

My family uses Dr Nowaki & we all really like everyone in the office.

Dr Cuomo works closely with Dr Bogdan who is incredibly gentle and caring. She is in Newtown and I highly recommend her. I've had some work done and honestly didn't feel a thing.

Dr. Dudley is amazing. He is so gentle and patient. I had a terrible experience and when I switched to Dr Dudley I never feared going to the dentist again. 426-0045. Good luck!

Dr. David Nowacki - great dentist and hygienists. My kids, husband and I all go there.

Who ever you decide on be sure you get it in writing that they will accept your insurance. Went to a dentist and they told us they took our insurance and they had lots of patients with our same insurance and turns out they didn't and charged us over $800 for my 2 son's check up. Needless to say I fought and fought with them over 4 months and they finally admitted their error and only charged me what it would have been had they in fact accepted my insurance. But it was the biggest pain! We now go to Dr. Braun and he is great for our whole family.

We just started going to Dr. Vaugn in Trumbull on 111 (by home depot). We've been very happy with the experience. We don't have Cigna so I'm not sure if they take it.

We use Dr. Kessler in Bethel. They are fantastic! We have Cigna.

We love Dental Associates for pediatric and adult dentists, and orthodontics. We have Cigna, and they take it.

Dr Filbert in Newtown is great and has a small family practice. Used to go to Dental Associates. My kids have always gone to pediatric dental in Southbury but he does see children too. He takes Cigna.

Stay away from Dr Dental,did not like them at all

TJ and I don't have dental coverage, and it's super expensive, but we really like Dr Strait in downtown Bethel... He focuses on preventative care so you hopefully don't have to go in for big $ procedures. He actually says that he doesn't like insurance because many of them don't focus on preventative and just wait for the procedures that will pay out you know my dislike for insurance right now, lol.. Just food for thought!

I've seen a groupon that Dr. Strait seems to always have running, if Liz likes him as a reference. You can find it listed as Wilton Dental Associates. He has an office in Wilton and Bethel. Something to consider possibly for this time if you can't find another office that takes Husky that you feel comfortable going to. And I would just call and say you saw the groupon, are there any catches to the groupon? (Which there shouldn't be) Good luck!
