[Jennifer Ivers](https://www.edinarealty.com/jennifer-ivers-realtor#/) Fantastic realtor. My wife and I worked with her to buy our first home this spring. She saved us maybe $10,000 during the negotiation process by helping guide us with where we could or could not push to get concessions from the seller and end up with the maximum best deal we could have gotten. She is also an extremely personable, kind, friendly, and just ever so slightly offbeat person. We felt comfortable around her right away. She took the time to learn what we wanted and found homes that fit exactly what we were looking for, including the one we ended up buying. If a house was outside our price range, she didn't recommend it, and never pushed us to do more than we thought we could handle. I cannot recommend her enough. She's amazing. Side note: do not go with Kris Lindahl. His reputation is someone who pushes you to GO FAST when you're searching for and buying a home. That means he'll push you to increase your bid above asking price, not negotiate every detail of the agreement leaving money on the table, and won't give you very much time or attention. It also means strong-arming you into a house you don't want. His whole strategy is volume, and that means fast transactions. Go with someone smaller who will help you sort out the details to your liking and find you a house you actually love.

Go to open houses in the area you're looking. Each will be hosted by a realtor. Find a realtor that's a decent human being first. This assumes you're a decent judge of character. I worked with this guy. He was more interested in finding me the right house than he was in making money. He's more in the Eagan area. https://www.edinarealty.com/tim-goggin-realtor#/
