Waren mill at bamburgh. Lovely kids play area, pub and small shop on site. And there is a co-op 10 mins away. Lovely site, nice and clean and facilities are great. http://www.meadowhead.co.uk/WarenHome.aspx
I've stayed at Waren Mill ( they have an outdoor heated pool too ) & HighBurn House at Wooler a few times....altho it's more of a basic campsite. It's often so hard to get booked for camping but High Burn House usually have vacancies...and shower block good. Will check out the other places recommended as not heard of these ones. I've stayed at a few others in the Barnard Castle, North Yorkshire areas too ....

We moved in February to London Road just on the corner of The Crescent. Period properties all around if that’s what you like. The Bowling Green pub 100 yards away, the river weaver 2 minutes away, Waitrose and The Salthouse Bar and Northwich Town Centre 10 minutes walk max. We moved from Altrincham and it’s the best thing we’ve done
