Does anyone local know of 1) a good handyman who can do stuff like change a faucet, wire/hang a chandelier, fix tile grout; and 2) a carpenter who can install a window?...

can a Carpenter that is licensed in CT do work in another state or do they need a license for that state as well? ? how's that work anybody know??
Francis J. replied:
Nope. Each state has it's own licensing requirements. But it generally goes unnoticed. An unlicensed contractor can usually avoid conflict until the customer reports unhappiness. Then he gets arrested and the attorney general sends his lawyer to meet him in court while the defendant prepares to pay back every penny that was paid to him only to end up with a conviction and possibly a jail sentence. Especially if it's residential. It also applies to commercial. Just have him apply for the license. https://www.licensetobuild.com/state-requirements/connecticut-state-licensing-requirements/
