Looking for a good tattoo place Hi CT!
I've been living here for about a year now and I'm looking for a good place to get a new tattoo. I'd love to hear of wonderful...

If you can afford it. Hope Gallery in New Haven. Some of the best artists in CT. Aside from them, Javier Eastman at Get Ink Tattoo in Norwalk does great work.

Forest to Shore gallery in Stratford has three awsome tattooers. I'd definitely check them out if your near fairfield county.

Honestly Green Man is the most famous in the Hartford area but they're not as good as they seem. They charge top pricing for far less than top tattoos for the industry.
siegewolf replied:
After taking 5 seconds to look at some of the work from Green Man I can honestly not believe anyone on here thinks they are great. They are no [Chris Crinkle](https://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-Crinkle-fanbase/58416793400), but damn if they are horribly mediocre. Okay, so it's not just that one. ALL of those places are terrible mediocre and would never want their tattoo machines touching my skin.

I've gotten some ink from CT Ink on Route 66 in Middlefield (also known as Washington St, between Middletown & Meriden), as have a number of my friends, and they've all been very professional, beautiful pieces. I also know folks, along with an ex, who have had work done at Green Man (as mentioned in other comments), and they've all been good experiences, though I can't say for myself. If you're getting a larger, more complex piece done, I'd say to still stop by a few places to get your feelers out on how you like the artists, atmosphere, and style of the shops. Is there any area you're trying to stay local to? Or are you centrally located enough where distance is not an issue?
coxguard replied:
I like Propaganda Tattoo in Manchester. Gentle hand and chill atmosphere.

I would strongly recommend Phil Morgan. He just opened his own shop this past year in Vernon. It's him and he just hired another artist. He's great if you're looking for highly realistic and detailed work. [Here's](http://www.highdefinitiontattoos.com/) the site.

I had a place in mind, then I realized my youngest tattoo is nearly ten years old. I doubt it would be the same as it was.
JDinMyCornFlakes replied:
Thank you everyone for all of your comments. I am going to take a good hard look at portfolios at a lot of these places. I have a tattoo already that is a few years old and it needs to be fixed because I was young and stupid and just went somewhere to get it done. I now was a bigger tattoo and it is a little bit more complex and I don't want it to get messed up. Looking at portfolios and going to the shops is what I will do to decide because I'm a little nervous being in a new place. I am centrally located so driving around isn't really an issue. Thank you again all for your input! I appreciate it much.

[Javier Eastman@Get Ink Tattoo, Norwalk](http://www.getinktattoo.com/javier_work.html) [Hector Daniels@Park City Tattoo, Bridgeport](http://www.parkcitytattoo.com/artist-galleries/hector-daniels/) There's more on their Facebook page than their website, which looks like it was recently updated.

Liberty Tattoo in Berlin did a great job and the price was right. I got my forearm done (see one of my earliest submissions for their work) and my buddy has gotten about 15 there in the last year. Ask for Davey.

FTS (Forest To Shore) gallery in Stratford. [Here](https://www.facebook.com/ftstattoo) is their facebook page, and [here](http://ftsgallery.blogspot.com/) is their blog/website. I've been tattooed by all 3 artists and they're all fantastic.

I've been going to Ernesto Nave at The Beauty Mark on East Main Street in Waterbury. He's incredible & I highly recommend him to anyone. There's a bit of a wait to get work done but it's so worth it.
MelissaPeaches replied:
Depends on what you are looking to get done. Bigger pieces, I would recommend Hope Gallery in New Haven. Their artists are amazing.
JDinMyCornFlakes replied:
I want two tattoos. I want them to look good and be artistic.
