There's a place called The Marlbank Inn which has an attached campsite, which I think is in Malvern, used to be really nice, not that close i dont think, but may be worth a try if you're struggling for others

Can anybody recommend a quiet hotel/Guesthouse / b&b within 10 minutes walk of the city centre? I don't know my friend's budget, but I suspect it's not very restricted.

Definitely NOT Chungking Mansions, it's a shithole. If you must stay there and ruin your first impressions of Hong Kong, try Block A floor 3 for the full experience of being ripped off for the cheapest price! My first ever stay in Hong Kong was at the much more beautiful Mirador Mansion. Try Hello Inn to stay in a well guarded building in the best location of downtown Tsim Sha Tsui, where you can reminisce over the wonderful memories you imagine I had there with my ex girlfriend.

Do not stay at Chungking Mansions - lots of options including roomsharing
Does anyone know of any dog friendly hotels or B&B's near Newbury show ground?
Kerena M. replied:
There's the Travel Lodges and also the Days Inn on the m4. Although the latter is on the west bound carriageways you can drive down a private road directly on to the services on the East bound side to return to the show ground the next day. I've had 4 dogs there. There is also a pub very near the show ground.
Pam G. replied:
I have used both. Days Inn don't charge as much for dogs and it is fine to get back to Newbury
Gill V. replied:
Try the Hare & Hounds at Speen, we stayed there for WBSDS show with 3 dogs, no charge for the dogs, very friendly, good service and dogs made welcome, can go in the bar. It's about 10 mins from Newbury showground. I found it on Booking.com but think they have their own website too
