Following. Have storm-water-river from farmer's field on heavy rainy days. Often has some mud flow w/ it. Tolerable I guess, but we're starting to have erosion from it from wearing away yard near trees over time. Not sure if farmer needs to control run-off (...?), or if we just need to deal w/ & re-build railroad tie wall that's falling apart and mound some dirt/yard back up to pool it somewhat. Had one estimate from TLC Landscape Belleville, just haven't set up yet. TLC did wonderful job previously on re-build of falling apart railroad tie wall into a block retaining wall next to house & water flow there.

Blue Mountain Waterscapes in Belleville 618-772- 9446. We had severe draining issues in our backyard and they did a great job to fix it. They specialize in drainage issues among other things.

I had a home in Belleville that was on a lot that was not properly graded. No amount of re grading will fix a problem like that. You can't add dirt around the house to make it look higher...it will still be sitting too low. If you grade away from the house....you'll be creating a moat. Best solution....perimeter drainage system with a powerful sump pump to keep your basement or crawl space dry. B-dry Systems in Caseyville does a great job and provides a life time warranty and annual check up on your system. P.S. Make sure you have commercial width rain gutters to carry away the water faster and won't overflow, and make sure they are cleaned out every spring before the rainy season.
