Aunt Kristi, we keep bees. Call the police, they usually have a list of local bee keepers who would gladly come collect the swarm. They are quite valuable. They are probably not African bees, most likely Russian or Italian and most likely non aggressive. They like the color purple and the scent of lemon, so don't go near them covered in either of these, lol.

Jamie Willis we do have the African bees here in Odessa. I don't think that is what they are though. But one of the grandkids is very allergic to bees so that is a great concern. Jason doesn't live with us anymore so we don't have to worry about him. His throat swells shut in 15 min after getting stung. I worry also about our boxer and lab who might disturb them. The places I have called so far haven't been much help. The tree is only 10 feet away from the front door and it sits right beside our church parking lot, so the chances of our congregation getting stung is very high as well. There are no bee keepers in Odessa several companies I contacted said. I have put it on facebook so hopefully I can get a response from somewhere close by.
