I agree with Lisa, further testing should be done. If a breast surgeon is an absolute must then Dr. Charles Cox is hands down the best!! And I'm pretty sure they have some sort of indigent program to help financially.

Dr Hechman (in Brandon) is the one that did my daughters juvenile tumor...with the new insurance laws you should be able to get Medicaid, that will pay for it ...good luck to you

I would suggest they seek a referral/recommendation through the St Petersburg Free Clinic. 727-821-1200. They may need to see a doctor there first, but it is free and a second opinion never hurts. I'm not 100% sure if they can directly help with the surgery and related costs, but they definitely have an excellent prescription drug assistance program that may be useful. I hope your friend finds the help they need!

LOVE my doctor...Her name is Dr. Thomas and works at the Medical Arts Building at Mease Countryside. Very, very thorough, never rushes you and very gentle. Theresa's pediatrician recommended her when she turned 18, and I wound up switching over to her. Her number is 727-712-0980.

Went to Dr. Stevens at Healthpoint Medical Group on Van Dyke...He actually had a form that asked if I would like prayer. I circled it and he prayed over me sincerely...He prayed for my family, he prayed...! I was blown away...I actually like Dr. Williams in the same practice a ton! She has the best bedside manner. Never a quick in and out...but I really have been impressed.
