I had a vax carpet cleaner that wasn't actually that cheap and didn't find it all that good to clean the carpets can't remember what model it was but anyways, unless you have the need for cleaning the carpets a lot so would need your own - I'd highly recommend these, they are so worth the hire! They deliver and collect the machines too - I always use even the most stubborn stains come up using the hand held bit for extra impact if needed - really good https://www.facebook.com/trcarpetcleanersandhire
