Does anyone know of a restaurant that was located on MacArthur just before crossing Adams Bayou on the right heading downtown?
Warren H. replied:
Franks Steakhouse was owned by Frank and Doris Levins. After the MacArthur location burned, Frank opened another place on Border, but sold it, and it continued to operate, though I don't remember what it was called after the Levins sold out. The Levins had a fish camp in Hackberry, LA. We used to stay there and fish in Big Lake.

I remember John's Cafe on Border...best hamburgers ever! When we had Campbell Oil on Jackson across from the old cemetery, ate there often.
