We are looking for daycare options for Colton. We live in downtown Orlando, and want to start at a couple of days per week. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Never underestimate the "in-home" daycares!! Logan's 3.5 yrs now, and he's been in at-home daycare since he was over 3 mos old, when I returned to work!! If I could've dragged Theresa to IL with me I sure would've!!!!! She had Logan until he was just under 2 (when we moved) and she is phenomenal! And I got two of my girlfriends to start taking THEIR kids there In Port Richey tho and since we've moved to IL he's been with Christina and he likes it at her house - has a BFF and everything - and goes to pre-k a couple of hrs a day then back to daycare! Honestly, I would seriously check some out in your neighborhood.... And to find them, I would check out care.com, craigslist, your local ads... And whether you choose corporate or in-home, always always interview each one and check their references!! Unlike corporate facilities (several that I'd called), in-home is def cheaper, AND will work with your hours! EX: if Logan went only two days one week and four the next, then I paid half for under three days/wk, and full price for three + per week! (Half time vs full time, respectively) the corporate ones I called had a FLAT FEE... Didn't matter if he'd be there 2 days a week or 5, the price was shocking and the same, regardless of days attended... Gah! Another plus with in-home: they are licensed, CPR certified (should be anyway), and regulated by the state, just like "companies." This means that, among many other things, that they have to have meals planned out and follow nutritional guidelines for every age group anyway, sorry for the novel, just wanted to throw my two cents in! Good luck, let me know what you decide!! Xoxoxoxo

Best Friends Kennel at Disney is amazing. A couple of the staff members are BT owners so they get extra love.

I have used V. I. Pet resort (Kissimmee), but it may be too far for them. http://www.vipet.net/
Jackie C. replied:
Henry, Kristi, and Susie, I have to completely disagree with you regarding Best Friends at Disney. Please PM me if you need more information, I will check my "other" folder. I used to work there, and no I am not a disgruntled former employee. I left voluntarily for a better opportunity and because I was disgusted with the treatment of the animals. Multiple instances of medications and food thrown away instead of given to the dog...many, many dogs dropped to the cement floor from the upper row of kennels...dogs interacting with other dogs even when they have instructions to the contrary...and many more horrible things. The only relatively satisfactory place there is the very expensive luxury suites, because the staff knows that they are on live video feed there and they have to "be good".

Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician? In the Maitland/altamonte springs area?
Also I know I need to start looking for child care? For...
I never had a pediatrician. I always took my kids to family practice. Love Dr. Kathy (Welty). See if you can find a stay at home mom that will watch your kid. Sitters are generally less expensive than day care. My kids always had sitters.

We just started going to Interlachen Ped in Oviedo when Julianna was born two months ago but we have really liked them so far. I know they have a Maitland office as well.
Joliann J. replied:
We chose Annunciation Catholic Day Care in Altamonte... Our baby will be here in April. My sister in law uses Hunt Club Pediatrics, and they are happy. We will either end up there or Sunshine Pediatrics, I think. It's about time we decided!!
Janna J. replied:
Dr. David Carr has had a huge positive impact on both my kids. His awareness literally changed both their lives. He is located near the train station downtown.

I'd drive any distance for Dr Carr.
