Question ... what insurance company do you have? Would you recommend them? (need to purchase our own policy and looking for advice!) Thanks!
Michele W. replied:
Amanda, been through the insurance war. Here, by far, Blue Cross has best coverage, with a whole lot of choices to try to tailor to your needs. Its all spendy Good luck with that!

Uggg... I work in the medical billing industry, and deal with companies all the time. Not sure about your Blue Cross of WI, but here, Blue Cross of IL is HORRIBLE. They have really gone downhill which is sad. I'm sure it's due to "budget cuts". They screw up paying on claims all the time and have horrible customer service. I have heard this from several patients, as well as providers. I also agree with Sarah that United Healthcare is pretty bad. And whenever I have to call them, their reps are outsourced. Don't speak good English and read from scripts (not helpful). I myself have a Humana HMO policy. I've had them for over 10 yrs and really haven't had a problem. I have also heard good things about Cigna.
Glen Pollack at Richards is good too, but they can be a bit expensive, I went to Dale Hotevac at State Farm on Oregon st

I like Mike Sullivan. He represents Liberty Mutual.

Kel, I'd recommend going with the same company you use for your homeowners insurance. We bundle all of our insurances together -- home, jewelry, auto, mopeds, etc--saves us a little bit of cash and makes it easy if/when you need to navigate. I also prefer having a local person to talk to -- we are with Bim at American Family -- because I prefer to talk to a human over dealing with a call center.
Soupanya C. replied:
Bim Carey@American Family, he used to be our neighbor when I was growing up and I can't think of a better person.
Holly Z. replied:
We have State Farm and bundle it all together. We use Lyndee Lewis on Witzel and have not had any issues. Been with them for over 26 years.
